Despite everything that you may have heard in school, the media, or the general public, or even the way you "feel" there is no reliable scientific proof that homosexuality is inherent or inborn. These are strong words, I know, but over the next few posts, I will elaborate and prove my point.

The truth is, sex feels good and is very arousing and exciting. From the moment a person becomes aware of their body or sexual organs, they become increasingly more and more curious about them and how to increase the feelings of pleasure in them. If during these times of exploration and discovery, a person is introduced to alternative (same sex)arousal, a seed is planted. This seed if nurtured, through education, society, environment, etc. will grow and flourish. This nurturing will present itself in the thought life, fantasies, and personal behavior of the individual. Eventually when this seed has grown sufficiently and matured, the result will be nearly uncontrollable desire for the physical fulfillment of these thoughts and fantasies.
Our culture and society has for years encouraged an environment based on the motto "If it feels good, do it." While this sounds good on the surface, I'd like to remind you that if you talk to a drug addict, he/she will tell you that drugs "feel good" despite the fact that their life and or health has either been ruined or is in the process. The same goes with a gluttonous person or an alcoholic. The point is, that just because it "feels good" or "seems right" doesn't make it so.
Homosexuality, like alcohol, drugs, gluttony, are issues of excess and self control. we as humans are incapable of perfect self control apart from God and a personal relationship with Yashua Messiah (Jesus Christ). When we ask Yashua into our lives, and He comes to dwell in us, He gives us that self control Galations 5:22-23.
According to the Bible, homosexuality is sin and it will keep us from God and His heaven. It is God's desire that none should perrish (go to Hell) but that all should come to repentance and inherit eternal life (Heaven). 2Peter 3:9 He tugs at and knocks at the doors of our hearts daily, Revelation 3:20 desiring for us to let Him in. If we would only let Him in and give Him a chance, we would experience a freedom and love like we've never imagined. But alas this is a subject for a later blog.
